Biography

Hello and welcome to my page!

My name is Clifton W. Dowers, KI4PHP, and I’m located in Brooksville, Kentucky. I have been an Amateur Extra Class operator since 2006 and enjoy both the technical and community-service sides of amateur radio.

I am involved with the ARRL Volunteer Examiner program, helping support and encourage new amateur radio operators. I also have training in emergency management and maintain a strong interest in emergency and public-service communications.

My amateur radio interests include VHF/UHF, Yaesu System Fusion, WIRES-X, AllStarLink, DMR, digital voice, hotspots, networking, and VoIP-based amateur radio systems. My station includes several Yaesu radios, and I enjoy experimenting with ways to integrate traditional RF communications with modern digital and Internet-linked systems.

My current systems include WIRES-X Node #10371 / Room #20371, AllStarLink Node #43611, and other digital communications systems. I especially enjoy learning, experimenting, helping other operators, and keeping amateur radio active in the community.

When I’m not working with radios, I enjoy technology, computers, networking, and spending time with family.

73 and thanks for visiting!
