Biography

GMRS- WRQS607

I was introduced to radio through my dad and first licensed as a technician in 2005, I spent some time on 10m with a HTX100 that he gave me for Chrismas one year and finally punched my general ticket in 2020.

I enjoy listening and making new contacts, mostly from my back yard or BYOTA as I call it.

Back Yard On The Air!

I am currently reconstructing my home station completley, rebuilding antennas and towers and planning to have everything back up by summer. in progress is a Mosley CL-36 beam and a 4BTV vertical. I have also constructed an OCFD but it was a moss magnet so I took it down for now.

I have just recently been enjoying POTA.

My current equipment consists of an Icom IC-718 as my primary, and a Realistic HTX-100, Alinco DX70TH and a Kenwood TS-140s as my portable radios. since taking down my tower (or should I say since the Fed-Ex guy took it down) I am using an EFHW as my primary antenna.

I also spend some time on VHF/UHF and Echolink as well as GMRS.

I am a member of the Madison Amateur Radio Club in Madison Florida and we have several repeaters on UHF (linked to SARNET) , VHF , and recently GMRS. Our DMR repeater is now offline.

If we make a contact I enjoy receiving QSL cards and I will also send mine.

73's and look for me on the air!
