Biography

First licensed in Hawaii in 1979. Joined Navy Marine Corps MARS program and ran shore to ship traffic as NNN0VTR. Have operated stations in Japan, the Philippines, Italy and Belgium. While in the Philippines, became the Area Coordinator for the MARS program and gave Novice license classes and exams to military and dependents stationed at Subic Bay. After 33 years in USMC, and 12 years as General Manager in Aerospace R&D, Chief Business Officer for the San Diego Unified School District, I am fully retired. Next year will mark 53 years married to my first wife. We have two daughters and five grandchildren who I am hoping will become amateur radio enthusiasts. We travel extensively in our Airstream International travel trailer and I operate portable from wherever we find ourselves. Most of my operating now is on digital modes at low power. As the sun comes out of the low point in the cycle, I will move back into more conventional modes. Member of the ARRL, Palomar Amateur Radio Club, and the CERT Auxcomm in Carlsbad, CA.
