Biography

Hello! Please check out my website at https://qsl.net/kg5zsu

Licensed in May of 2018 at the Longview East Texas Amateur Radio Club, I have been shortwave listening and preforming ham related tasks (like antenna making) since December 2017. I frequently participate in the LETARC, RACC, FSAR, and ARCOS weekly nets. I am also active in the East Texas Amateur Radio Community (a Morris County ham radio club), and a charter member of the Upshur Area Amateur Radio Club (UAARC).
My primary station consists of an 80m full-wave horizontal loop for HF and 6m, and a Kenwood TS-2000 for 160m-70cm operation. My VHF/UHF antenna is Comet GP-6 for 2m and 70cm, and a non-resonate vertical for 30m through 6m. I frequently use digital modes on HF and 6m, most often FT8 and FT4, and sometimes MSK144 for HSMS.

Why I use QRZCQ: I got very angry at what was formerly my favorite callsign lookup and logging tool--QRZ.com. I can not stand for the garbage and perverted junk they are allowing on their front page, so I had my account deleted. Thanks to Ralph--KF5WGB for pointing me here.

I hope that through my actions and words I may bring glory to Christ Jesus. I know that I fail at this all too often. As the Bible says, “...all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Rom. 3:23) Don't use me as an example of a perfect person, that is Christ's job. By myself, I will never bring glory to an Almighty God. That is why Christ died on the cross for my sins. He took the punishment that I deserved for my sin and allows my life to be acceptable unto God. He chose me in spite of my sin.

For me, being a Christian means more than just saying a prayer and reading a Bible. Salvation is something only God can give, and it is "...by grace are [we] saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ..."(Eph. 2:8-10) John 3:16 says "God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God." The bible is given by the inspiration of God through men, and it is our means of learning more about Christ. If you want to learn more about God, start reading and praying. God gives generously to those who ask in faith.

If you do not have a Bible, here is a great web site: https://biblia.com/

This link will take you to a good starting place.
