Biography

In my high school days during the early 1960s I was first KN0DMA then K0DMA. I worked all over, mainly 80m CW with a homebrew 10w 6L6 oscillator and an old Navy surplus receiver. Then came college, a family, job, and ham radio went by the wayside. Fast forward to 2018 when I aquired a brand new Technician license in April, dragged my old SDR out of the dust bin, built an antenna for it and began re-aquainting myself with the ham bands. How things had changed! The equipment is a whole lot smaller, cooler, and way more powerful but Maxwell's Equations are still valid and the antennas are still huge! A General class license in September and a brand new Yaesu FT-991A along the way and I'm a happy camper. I've been trying to rebuild my CW skills and have been working CW on 20&40 along with SSB, FT8, PSK31, and RTTY. I've also started experimenting with DMR and YSF, and more recently JS8Call.

Speaking of camping, when I'm not in 'the shack' my wife and I enjoy square dancing, geocaching, traveling in our 2007 Casita travel trailer, and genealogy.
