Biography

Ham since 2006. Enjoy DX and ragchew on all bands. Ham Sats since 2009. Most recently my favorite band has been 6 meters. Most of my time is spent on 2M local repeater, 20 meters and 6 meters when it is open. Enjoy messing with older tube type equipmet, especially Collins, Heathkit and Hallicrafters.

Equipment

Two Yaesu FT-847s. One for main HF/6 meter rig and one for working sats. Ameritron AL-811 amp and MFJ-989B Versa Tuner. Mosley TA34XL WARC antenna on 40 ft crank-up tower. 3 element M2 six meter beam above the Mosley HF beam. For ham sats a pair of M2 2M & 440 RHCP satellite antennas with Yaesu G-5400 rotator. Older equipment includes Collins KWM2, Collins 32S-3 and 75S-3 plus all the extra goodies for the Collins Winged Emblem stations. Heathkit SB-104 station with SB-230 and SB-220 amps. Hallicrafters SX-71 receiver. Kenwood TS-830S tranceiver. National "blue" receiver and a Swan 120 triband transciever. My main mobile is a Yaesu FT-857D + ATAS 120-A screwdriver.Yaesu FT-2500 2 meter mobile. Icom handhelds. Lots of other antennas and the typical shop overflowing with all kinds of fun ham stuff I picked up at estate sales and hamfests. I also like to collect old microphones. Electrovoice Cardyne 1 is the neatest (The Elvis mic). Several D-104s and a bunch of others.
