Biography
I became interested in radio in the 1960's as a child.
I bought and operated CB radio's in the 1970's as KBNR6149 -That lasted until the call sign requirement was removed and the band went to pot and became unusable - at least for me.
I finished my tour of duty with the US Army and began investigating what I needed to do to get on the Ham Bands.
In the early 1990's I got my first ticket. Over the years I upgraded several times and finally got my Extra Ticket.
In 2020, due to decreased local activity on VHF/UHF - I obtained a GMRS license and have found lots of activity there. Many GMRS operators are also Hams. It has been a good experience for me. I now work both the Amateur bands and GMRS. I am having lots of fun!
I have been enjoying all the bands at all levels... hope to chat one day soon.
