Biography

Hello and thank you for stopping by!

The name here is Dennis, and I have been a radio enthusiast since I was a little kid. It started with AM/FM radio, and then it was listening to my father's police scanner when I was about 10 or 11 years old, and from there it was shortwave radio when I bought my first SW radio from Radio Shack back in 2000 when I was 15 years old. Finally, in 2018, I got my amateur radio license and I have been having a blast on the airwaves ever since.

Besides my amateur radio call sign, I also have a SWL call sign which WA9199SWL. I still use this call sign for logging shortwave stations, and for sending eqsls to hames that I have decoded SSTV images from on 20 meters.

I have owned many radios over the years, including both analog and digital, and vacuum tube and transistor radios. I have owned Hallicrafters radios, a Hammarlund HQ 100A, several Realistic DX radios, and many, many other radios.

You may have also noticed that I am a huge Godzilla fan. I've been a fan of the Big G since the age of 4 when I saw my first Godzilla movie on Ch. 18 out of Milwaukee, "Godzilla's Revenge."

I am also a YouTuber. You can check out my channel here.... https://www.youtube.com/user/Ultraseven85

I do eqsl for SWLs, and I am willing to send out paper QSL cards, it just takes me a while to send them out, because I usually do not have stamps or envelopes on hand.
