Biography
Greetings! Please visit my site at https://kd9cpb.com if you'd like to know more about me.
I first got into ham radio thanks to my friend N9AAC peer pressuring me into taking the technician license test at a WM9W breakfast back in 2014. Then in 2017, I successfully peer pressured my father KD9JSB into getting his license as well. Ham radio sure is better when you drag more people into it!
One of the goals of my silly website is to get more IT professionals, especially those who like to tinker with Raspberry Pi computers, interested in the amateur radio service. I don't know if it'll be successful, but if you ever want to ragchew about computer networking or Raspberry Pi topics, I'm your guy!
I love doing paper QSLs, if you send me one I will gladly return the favor. 73, Tom

These days I mostly operate DMR/UHF/VHF from a Cushcraft AR-270 antenna and Anytone 578 radio here in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA.
From time to time, I'll hop on a Realistic HTX-100 radio with 2x MFJ-1610T dipole and work 10 meter FT8. Lots more about this setup at https://kd9cpb.com/10m-ft8.
