I don't check all the Ham websites... But I prefer paper Qsl's

A little about me and how it all got started:

This all started out with a visit to a Ham radio convention in the Inland Empire North East of Los Angeles California at the local Fair Grounds(Pomona)1988(20Yo). I got the bug! LOL! I have seen some older guys playing with radios and showing the young bucks that were curious enough to stop by their booth. What they were achieving with a Ham Licenses and Dual-band radios! At that time while visiting this booth I must have stayed some 4 hours there. I was fascinated. But that was not my plan for the day! At 20yo I planned on spending the day eating Fair food like always and getting some dangerous rides in for the day. To regress, I almost blew my whole day there at that booth! Years later I met a friend of a friend and mentioned trying to achive a Ham Lic. Nagging, Bugging me to get my ticket! I am not kidding. This guy would not let up after years and many years of friendship! Go get your Lic. Thanks, Allen KD9EPZ

So he got the fire started again with the effort to get a
Ham lic, over the phone and had a DMR contact of his. Allen, He mentions I'm in Boise Idaho. The contact responds, hey so am I. So I contact this guy over email and we get to chatting on a lengthy phone conversation. He re-directs me to a website of a local 2 meter repeater (WA9WSJ) wa9wsj.com here in Boise. You what! I know I contacted SO many clubs to get some info on classes to get the whole thing started! None except this one club BCARC responded! I asked if (wa9wsj) on how I can get my ticket and are there Tech classes aval ANYTIME! I was so desperate! So his wife (KE7HHW) responds to my email one day and tells me no not yet. Nail-biting ensures more this time. Diane, (KE7HHW) later tells me over email later on. YES! There will be one soon. So I say, I'll stay in contact. About 4 weeks pass up and I forget all about it! I said to myself all-hell with it! It's not going to happen! Meanwhile, Al KD9EPZ nags away! Diane (KE7HHW) contacts me again, email and notes we are starting a Tech class in a week from now! HOWALULA!! She also mentions I need a Gordon Wests book (WB6NOA) (Gordo) 2018-2022 Technician Class FCC Element 2 Amateur Radio License test Prep book. So after 12 classes in 6 weeks I missed 6 on the FCC test. But I pass! The rest is history. 73 Vince...
