| Biography Background. Born and raised in California. First licensed in 1959 as WV6DRZ (Novice) and then as WA6DRZ in Paradise, CA. Jack Griffith, WA6BQZ (SK) was my Elmer. During a 25+ year U.S. Army career, operated in Japan (KA2AW), the Canal Zone (KZ5LD), Panama (HP1XLH) and Germany (DA1AR). Retired from the military in 1991 as a Senior CID Special Agent with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command. Retired again in March 2015 as the Director of Repository Operations (GS-14), Department of Defense DNA Registry, Armed Forces Medical Examiner System, DNA Identification Laboratory, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. Equipment Station. Ameritron ALS 1306 1.2 kw amplifier, Icom 7610 and IC-756 Pro II transceivers, Kenwood TS930S transceiver and SM220 station monitor. Vibroplex Iambic and Straight keyer.
