Biography

Hi I'm KD0PNP :aka Derek McCorkell I reside in Elk River Minnesota USA and have done since 2005 prior to that I lived in Ballymena ,Northern Ireland .

I've been a Ham Radio operator since 1988 when I got my first UK call Gi7CNO this I updated in 1992 to Gi0SFX and operated with that call up to the time I moved here to the USA.From 2005 to early 2011 I was not active then I decided to rekindle my love for Ham Radio and sat the USA Amateur Examinations gaining my General call in late 2011.

I'm a keen QRP fanatic and love running less than 2 watts CW with simple antennas,which is a good thing as I live here in a antenna restricted apartment block.My main bands of operation at present are limited to 10 & 20 meters QRP mainly CW.
