Biography

I reside in the Zeeland/Holland area of Michigan very near Grand Rapids.

I log all my OSOs to: LoTW, eQSL.cc(AG), HRDlog.net, and QRZlog. I also upload to Club Log and QRZCQ's Log weekly and exchange via the Bureau and will return a QSL card if sent direct.

I've been retired a few years now, being an active ham since 2009 and upgraded to General Class in 2011. Currently I'm striving for working all states ("WAS") and doing DXCC countries all in Digital modes. I am a Vietnam era Navy veteran having served on the heavy cruiser USS Newport News.

I am active daily on 20, 15 and 10 meters; working a lot of digital; I'm also mobil with my 2-meter while driving.

My shack currently includes the following equipment:
Radio: Icom 7300 + LDG Autotuner
My Backup radio: Flex6400
My PC is an i7 running Ham Radio Deluxe 6.4 for all digital modes including FT8.
Ants: Hygain AV640 vertical and 2-Meter Copper J-Pole for my FT2900 base operation.

My other interested include: spending time with my grand children, and playing with my dogs Sadie and Zoey; and taking day-trips with my wife throughout Michigan and the UP.

I pass along a hello to my son Brett (N9YAQ) in Michigan and my good friend Glenn (WA9TVB) in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.

73, and I hope to see you on my waterfall, or talk in-person real soon!

DX Code Of Conduct

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
