Biography

I was trained by the US Navy to be an electronics technician. I served for 7 1/2 years and was stationed aboard the nuclear powered missile submarine, the USS Alexander Hamilton, SSBN-617. I also worked for TRW as an electronic technician and then worked as a civil servant for the Defense Logistic Agency as a quality assurance representative. My last job was at the China Lake Naval Air Warfare Agency at China Lake, California on the F/A-18 jet aircraft program.

I don't remember when I was first licensed as a ham but they had Novice, Technician, General, Advanced, and Extra Class licence categories. I am retired and having a great time. 73s.

Equipment

My station consist of an Icom IC-7300 HF rig at 100 watts driving a HyGain AV-18VS vertical with an LDJ RT-100 remote antenna tuner. I also have two VHF/UHF radios: Icom IC-2400A and SocoTran ST-980 Plus.
