Biography

I was first licensed as Technician Class KC5RYH on 01 December 1995. I upgraded to General Class in September 1996 when I passed my 13-wpm Morse Code exam. I kept that call sign until November 1997 when I applied for and received W5CPA after obtaining my license as a Certified Public Accountant. I was thinking about changing my call sign after I let my CPA license lapse. I saw that KC5MC was available on the day before my birthday in 2025. Since I had known Vreland Shaw who previously held the call sign and I had always liked it. I applied for it as a Birthday gift for myself. I received the call on 05 May 2025.

Equipment

I just have junk Baofeng radios right now. Apartment living does not lend itself to operating on the HF bands. About the only time I operate HF is during Field Day with one of the local Amateur Radio clubs.
