Biography
I got my Tech ticket in 2004, and in 2007 got the General. In Dec 2013, I finally got the Extra.
And in 2008, K9MMW said "try this" (PSK31), and I have been on that ever since. I like ALL contacts, no matter where they be from!
I used to work for Motorola for a number of years, so getting into ham radio was not a big issue. Worked with a bunch of Engineers, even if I was not one myself; worked in security.
Later in 2007, I changed the call since I wanted the "TIE"; since my dad was a ham in the 1930's, and his call was W9TIE. I still have station pictures and a QSL card that used to belong to him.
I like shopping at estate sales, picked up some good deals like all the antennas. I have added the add on kit (40M) for the beam (Santa brought it - was hubby) He likes ham radio also.
So, if you see me on the bands, give me a call!
I do some JT65 and JT9,and other digital modes, but much prefer PSK31. Phone is also on the menu, but very very limited. I am a digital user most of the time, like to try new ones all the time.
Contesting is in the menu, limited amount on that, just like making contacts and do some of rag chewing also. Whatever......
I had LoTW, but it's a real pain, certificate ran out so may not renew it.
