Biography

Welcome and thanks for looking up my QRZ page as we either had a recent QSO or you may have simply heard the call.

I primarily enjoy DXing on HF and I’m usually active on 20M,40M and 80M, but enjoy working whatever bands are open.

Contesting has become a passion and I look forward to participating.

I enjoy going after the special event stations and receiving their QSL card or certificate.

I also enjoy getting the mail and finding QSL cards in the mailbox,so if you send me one, you will 100% get one in return.

The majority of time I transmit from my home QTH in New Hampshire running an Icom 7300 into an SP7IDX Hex Beam at 50'.

When on the go I'm running an FT-857 Yaesu with an LDG YT-100 tuner into a SOTA Beam at 30 feet.

Power distribution, whether it be AC or DC is through a West Mountain Radio RIGrunner 4005.

When contesting or DXing,I'm using a Yamaha CM- 500 headset with a DXE foot switch.

I am a retired career firefighter and currently still work in the emergency medical services field.

When not playing radio,I enjoy camping, hiking and snowmobiling.

I hope to work you on the air,or see you further on down the log.

Good DX and all the best.

73,Al

dx code of conduct small logoI support the "DX Code Of Conduct" to help to work with each other and not each against the others on the bands.
