Biography

Welcome and thanks for looking up my QRZCQ page as we either had a recent QSO or you may have simply heard the call.

I primarily enjoy DXing on HF and I’m usually active on 20M and 40M, but enjoy working whatever bands are open.

Contesting has become a passion and I look forward to participating.

I also enjoy going after the special event stations and receiving their QSL card or certificate.

The majority of time I transmit from my home QTH north of Boston,Mass. running an FT-857 Yaesu with an LDG YT-100 tuner into a SOTA Beam at 30 feet.

Power distribution, whether it be AC or DC is through a West Mountain Radio RIGrunner 4005

When contesting or DXing,I'm using a Yamaha CM- 500 headset with a DXE foot switch.

I am as of 4/12/18 waiting on an SP7IDX Spider Beam, which will be mounted atop one of my 50' crank up towers.

At that point I plan on getting an Icom-7300.

I am a retired career firefighter and currently still work in the emergency medical services field.

When not playing radio,my family and I enjoy camping, hiking and snowmobiling.

I hope to work you on the air,or see you further on down the log.

Good DX and warm regards.

73,Al
