Biography
This year, 2023, marks 30 years since I got my first ham radio license. I was in the USAF at the time and away from my home QTH, so I tested at University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana where I got my "9" call (KB9IPF). Although I've had opportunites to change it, I decided to carry my call sign all the way through to Extra Class Operator. I have also been a VE and tested people to become amateur radio licensed.
Aside from enjoying my own radios, which have ranged from VHF to HF bands, I also have taken part in many field day activities. These activities have included setting up stations, such as one on the USS North Carolina.
I've met some great people over the years (some even halfway around the world), gained much knowledge, and will cherish many memories of this great hobby!
