Biography

Thanks for visiting my QRZCQ site.

I became interested in Amateur (HAM) radio when a very good friend of mine, WA6ELO (now a silent key) talked to me about it. He mentored me and assisted me in studying for my license. In 1983 I tested & received my Amateur radio license (Novice, yes CW was part of the test then) then a few months later earned my Technician license. In 1993 I tested for and earned my General license. I did not change my call as I liked the phonetics given me by Frank WA6ELO. My mentor was the first to call out my call sign as KB6 Great American Cowboy.

I am currently living in Southern California and I am enjoying learning this new DMR side of the hobby, educating myself and learning more everyday. Starting to get into HF now. Hoping for better propagation soon.

I will answer you if I hear you call.

73's and may the Good Lord take a liken to ya.
