Biography

At 71 I am still a practicing attorney handling bankruptcy cases in the general Sacramento, California region.

I have been a licensed operator since only 2018 and received my General in March 2024.

I do a lot of DX unting when I have time a bit most early evenings (Pacific Time). In just over a year I have made over 1,000 SSB contacts.

I am a member and treasurer of the Sierra Foothill ARC located in Auburn, CA. It has between 300 and 350 activ members locally and around the world. It is well-known to the Coffee Breat Net each morning from 7:30 to 10:00 am, Pacific Time. It's on the W6EK repeater network.

I have a lot of fun with HF and in addition to the FT-710 shack, I have a great portable setup with an FT-891, a mAT-30 tuner and 30Ah battery in a 4U x 14" rack-mount case, with a 40' Spiderbeam mast with base-mount, hitch-mount and a guying system, plus a 15' telescoping tripod. The antennas are an inverted-V 6-80M OCF, a 30' 6-80M EFHW and 2 20M Shark Hamsticks. The Hamsticks mount on the 15' tripod-mount in flat-top dipole, inverted 90-degree V or a single vertical with the mout I made. The setup also has a large roll-top table and lots of bits and peices!

See you on the air! 73!
