Biography

Shortwave radio began my interest in Amateur Radio back in the early 70s listening to HCJB and Radio Australia.

First licensed in 1976 and built a transmitter out of a combination of schematics found in the 1948 and 1956 radio handbooks about 35 watts input.

Many of the parts came from junk yard TV sets or surplus military outlets and de-soldered the components I needed in many cases.

Rig was xtal controlled for a good while using a frequency of 3737 MHZ but worked many stations.

Worked DXCCs:

Equipment

Yaesu FT991 / ACOM 1000 / Mosley TA63N at 55 feet

Double Extended Zepp 186 feet in length feed by 450 ohm ladder line for 40 meters and below.
