Biography

This is my original call issued in 1957 at age 13 in Southern Ill., tested by K9DNH, witness W9SBK; I was running an ARC-5 40 meter Command rig and, first a MK II, then a BC312 rcvr (all from WWII) with 1/2 wave flattop dipole @ 25'. Now running Elecraft K3 w/ KPA1500 amp and a Butternut HFV9 vertical; mic: Heil Gold Line with HC4 and wide range elements. Key is a new (as of 5 years ago) Vibroplex bug, smooth as silk; loving it and my K Line. 8 year Air Force pilot; now a semi-retired attorney. The black and white pictures are of my first novice ham shack in June of 1957.
Special ham buddies from the old days (1950s and '60s) from Centralia, IL, that I still talk to on the air, Tom, K9BYS, Phil, K9DNH, Jerry, K9KWD and Fred, K9YII
73 to my Elmer, Jim, W9SBK, SK
73, Bob
