Biography

I have had my license since 1997, Tech Plus, KC8JGO. Used HT and played around a little on local repeaters. In 2007 I was bored and decided to decided to upgrade my license. I toolk both the General and Extra and changed callsign to K8YQ.

I sat with that Extra license for 14 years with out an HF Rig. Finally I bit the bullet in November 2021 and purchased a Yaesu FT-991a and am starting out with a Super Antenna MP1DXPRO. So far its been fun playing with FT8 and making phone contacts as well. Still, lots to learn.

My wife is from Trinidad. I would like to do the paper work and make contacts from the island one day soon.
