Update on the photo.

Sadly, our father, Jack, KG7X (ex-W7IVB) passed away in 2011.
All of us in the family owe him greatly for many things, but importantly here, we owe him for his work in teaching all of us the necessary prerequisites for becoming Amateur Radio Operators.

Robert (my son) studied hard and upgraded to Amateur Extra Class License and requested and was granted Dad's call sign, so Robert is now KG7X (ex-KB7JEC).

Additionally, my grandson, Alex has been studying hard and we expect that he will take the test very soon. It is probable (from results on practice tests) that he will be able to pass both the Technician Class and General Class license exams. I will update with additional information as it becomes available, but if/when that happens, Alex will be the first 4th generation Amateur Radio Operator in our family.

Update (2/2/2013): Alex took and passed both his Technician and General Class license tests today. I'll update with a call sign when it becomes available.

Update (2/4/2013): The FCC posted a call for Alex this morning. (Thanks to Bob, K9WMP's quick paperwork). Alex's new call is KG7AZV. Congrats Alex!

I also wanted to add another family licensed amateur to the list, Kenton Towner, KF4YXP, (my apologizes for not getting this info on here sooner). Although he uses his radio for emergency situations rather than recreational, he still learned the necessary material, took and passed the test and obtained his Call Sign and he is very much a part of the family.

One note on my locator - DM43cj - which is the correct locator. However, since my PO box is not at quite the same location as my home, a search with the ZIP code may show a different locator, but DM43cj is correct for my station location.
