Biography

I was first licensed in November 2010. I retired in 2016. My home has a very small yard that is surrounded by big trees. HF is my primary direction in the hobby. A good rag chew and a little DX and I'm a happy ham! I've also been lucky at buying, selling and trading 2nd hand radio gear. It has provided me a modest yet very nice social security station!
Like I said, my home has a very small yard that's surrounded by big trees. It's an interesting place to hang a wire and a low profile antenna and play ham radio! I'm using an MFJ-1835H Cobweb for 10,12,15,17 and 20 meters and a Cobra Ultra Lite wire that performs really well on 40 and 80 meters. I am impressed how good the little 5 band Cobweb works being up only 25'. I still have at least another 15' in the "home made" push up mast left to go. The ladder line fed Cobra Ultra Lite wire is sloping with one end at 45' and the other end at 100'
