Biography

I was involved in ham radio and electronics as a teenager, and a founding member of the Reseda High School Radio Club in 1961. Our sponsor was the Electric Shop teacher, Mr. Don Brockway - W6PL.

But, with marriage, family, and a career in the semiconductor industry, my ham radio hobby went by the wayside.

In 2004 I invented microprocessor controlled electronic fireflies Patent 7,212,932 that are used in theme parks, zoos, nature centers and commercial facilities around the world, as well as in home back yards.

In 2013 I sold the business Firefly Magic ( FireflyMagic.com )and retired.

Following retirement I decided to re-enter amateur radio and acquired my Extra Class license in 2014.

In 2014 my wife and I moved to 6 acres in De Luz Heights, (near Fallbrook) California atop a 1100' hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base (where I was stationed in 1964 for Advanced Combat Training).

I primarily work digital, especially FT8 & FT4 which keeps the mind sharp and the mouse hand busy.
