Biography
I was first licensed on August 30, 2007 as a General class ticket holder. On Sept. 13, 2007, I upgraded to an Extra class ticket holder. My Call sign was KI6LPU. On Friday, April 17, 2009, I was re-issued a Vanity call sign of K6JLL. I am a member of the ARRL league, and I am a Club member of the Kern County - Central Valley Amateur Radio Club, Inc. Club Call sign is W6LIE, Located in Bakersfield, Ca. I operate on VHF, and on HF across all the Amateur Radio bands, with the exception of 160 M Band. I am also a VE . I have had an enjoyable experience being in Amateur Radio. My first experience working on the Air, was my Military training as a Radio Technician, as well as a Radio Operator (RTO). I retired from the United States Marine Corps after 35 Years, 1965 thru 2000. I started working for AT&T in 1972, and retired in 2009. I Live in the city from where I was born, Delano, Ca.

Here's what I have in my Radio Shack:
Primary Rig is the ICom 7800, Ameritron AL-1200 Amp, and a MFJ998 AutoTuner.
Secondary back up Rig is the ICom-7610.
Third back up Rig is the ICom 7000.
An Ameritron AWM-30 Peak Reading - SWR / Wattmeter. A Daiwa SWR / PWR Meter, Amplified speaker system.
MFJ Switching, 45 Amp, Power supply. An Astron 35 Amp Power supply.
Ameritron Model ARB-704 Interface, USB Interface III MicroHam for Digital Communications.
SignaLink USB unit for Digital Communications. Used with my ICOM-7610 Radio unit.
Tri-Ex 33 Foot Tower, with an 11 Mast Pole. Attached to the Mast Pole is a Cushcraft X-7 Big Thunder Tribander Yagi.
Attached to the X-7 Yagi antenna is the X-740, 40 Meter Dipole antenna that's attached to the X-7 Yagi Beam.
The Tri-Ex tower is up at approx. 33 Feet above the ground level. The Mast is up 7 ft. above the top of the Tri-Ex Tower.
The Cushcraft X-7 Beam, and the Cushcraft X-740, 40 Meter attachment are up at 42 feet above ground level.
I have a Hy-Gain Tail Twister Rotor.
ICom V-8000, VHF 2 meter Radio. The VHF antenna's are located at approx. 40 feet above the ground, located on the roof. I also have an Yaesu FT-8500 Dual Band FM radio. Used for local communications.
I have a desktop Computer with High speed DSL connection.
I have a Direct TV Network Reciever and a Digital TV monitor to view the latest News from the FOX Network.... " Fair and Balanced NEWS coverage".
I am currently retired, and enjoy being retired, and enjoy this great HOBBY of ours, called" HAM RADIO ". Lets make some DX contacts !!!
I use LOTW, I also use E-QSL, also use the Bureau. I respond to Direct QSL requests. For QSL Cards responses outside the USA, please provide 2 USD and your S.A.E. envelope to my home address.
