Biography

Hello,

My Name Is Edgardo Ramos But most every one calls me (ED) or (Edgar), I was born in the town of Arecibo Puerto Rico but spent the early years of my life living in the town next to it Barceloneta Puerto Rico. I later moved to Brooklyn New York City, the (Williamsburg area). I joined the U.S. Army early on and spent most of my life in the military and raised two sons who are now adults who have there own life and homes.

I was first Licensed as a Amateur radio operator on 12/26/2001 as KG4QWV on 01/10/2006 I Got the K4NYC Vanity call.

When I can I spend most of my time on the HF band, I enjoy 17, 20 and 80 meters. I also spend a lot of time on 6 meters and 10 meters when these bands are open; but do roam the other band as well. I enjoy rag chewing, PSK31, Satellite Communications and SSTV, locally I'm active on 2m and 70cm when work permits. I have tried just about every mode and activity but do not consider myself a contester it's just not my thing, however I do like Special Event Station. That is until I moved into a community with an HOA now it's mostly 2m and 70cm.
