Biography

Began my hobby 46 years ago in my home country of Colombia, where I held a First Category operator's license with the call sign HK4LLH. However, upon relocating to the U.S., I stepped away from ham radio for various reasons, primarily to focus on establishing a family here. Although I've remained connected to the world of radio waves, I haven't been deeply involved in the hobby during this period.

Now that I have more time, thanks to my retirement from the fire department in April 2024, I'm excited to dedicate myself once again to this fantastic hobby. In the past, I have engaged in various aspects of ham radio, including SSB, Packet, RTTY, Paktor, and satellite communications, as well as digital modes and even communications with the ISS, when NASA initiated the project. This was a memorable experience that I will cherish forever.

Now that I have more time, I plan to explore FT8, FT4, and other digital communication modes. I'm also excited to delve into DMR and D-Star systems. I'm genuinely looking forward to this renewed focus on these modern aspects of the hobby.
