Biography

APCO is the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials, International, Inc., founded in St. Louis, MO in 1935 as the Associated Police Communications Officers. APCO's first logo was fashioned after the St. Louis Metropolitan Police badge. It's first convention was held at the Melbourne Hotel in St. Louis, MO, on January 21st. APCO now represents all disciplines of public safety communications interests around the world providing standards, training, radio frequency coordination, advocacy, and constituent services.

K4AI is primarily used by authorized membership in portable operations during special events, such as the annual APCO Conference, held in various cities in the United States.
