Biography

I was first licensed as W1SCF in 1949, and upgraded to Class A in 1950. On my move from the Boston area to Rochester, N. Y., in late 1957, I was required to apply for a second call area call. By the "luck of the draw", I was issued K2SSB, the Advanced Class version of an expired Novice Class Call. Because I operated only CW at the time, the SSB pioneers in Rochester were livid! I upgraded to Amateur Extra Class at the 1978 Rochester Hamfest. I worked for Eastman Kodak Company 1957-1985, when I retired. I moved to Charlottesville in the spring of 1997.
