Biography

Greetings from West-Central New Jersey. I am approximately 45 miles west of NYC in beautiful Hunterdon County, very close to Pa.
While I operate from the home QTH, I particularly enjoy HF, VHF, and 70 CM Mobiling from my Ford Ranger.
At the home QTH are an ICOM 756 pro and ICOM 7300, with a 32 foot vertical dipole that looks like a flagpole, and an OCF Windom sloper dipole strung 55 feet high.
The HF Mobile is an ICOM 7000. I use a home brew self-tuning antenna and a small controller to tune the antenna.
VHF,70 CM, and 220 is a Baofengtech UV-50X3 tribander.

I have made many contacts with the mobile on HF, and basically can work anyone I can hear, I run barefoot at 100 watts. Since the antenna is very high efficiency it works well.
I enjoy the technical side of Amateur Radio, and especially constructing antennas and mobile mounting of HF equipment.
I can be found in the mobile daily and mostly monitor 20 meters, (14.305.00), and also the local repeaters on VHF, 220, and 70 cm.
I am also very much into automotive a I do specialized chassis and other components for the car hobby. I am a metal fabricator by trade and I specialize in one-off parts and aluminum and stainless steel welding for the local machine shops. Of course this comes in handy when constructing antennas for the Ham Radio Hobby. Below is my Current Hand built project in its finishing stages.
Thanks for looking
