Biography

I took this hobby up late in life so I'm not a great op but I do my best. I operate CW 99.99% of the time, it's the mode that is magical to me and I love QRP...nothing more exciting than working the world with minimal power. I will never own an amp or have big towers...I love building and experimenting with wire antennas.

I contest to help improve my copying and sending skills and enjoy the QRP Foxhunts..they contintue to help me learn how to work weak DX. I hope to have a mediocre fist at some point but in the meantime I keep trying....please be patient with me.

First licensed in February 24, 2004 and upgraded to Extra on April 22, 2004. I changed my call from AB1DR to K1QO in December of 2006...I wanted a smaller and "louder" call to help get through pileups.

Fists# 10747, Flying Pigs #957, QRP ARCI #11881, NAQCC #1143, NEQRP #626 ARS #1751, SOC #674, Zombie #1026, CWJF Group #604
