Biography

I live in the middle of nowheresville, tucked up in the crown Maine on the St. Johns River, across which is Canada, so I am half of both countries. I run a 100 acre grain farm and have live in a very beautiful place. I enjoy the radio because in the dead of winter I can chat with people all over the world. It is a terrific amount of fun. I have only a butternut vertical,an inverted V for 160 and 20 meters, a mag loop and a Cb antenna. I have two different stations in the house, on in the living room and the other in my shop using two icom 735's. I recently got a 818Nd from Yaesu which is great fun, I lug it around and the mag loop to the fields and to the park on the river down the road. I like QRP trying to do more with less, it keeps the load light and though i probably cut my contact amounts short, that is never my objective. When the conditions are good 2.5 watts will do just fine. On the Icoms I run barefoot. It is all great fun and i have met some very nice people over the years. I am also the inventer and seller of the famous Kitano Key. Ham radio is like life,i take an interest in exploring it even though I know not as much as i like about electricity, antennas etc. I figure it out as I go. The mag loop is great fun and covers all the bands from 40 to 15 meters just by tuning the variable capacitor.
73s to all the hams the world over.
