I am a musician. I studied with jazz legend Jackie McLean from the time i was 17. I taught and played all over the world for many years. Low bands: homebrew shortened verticals, QW Vertical on 40m, elevated 3m, home brew, 80/160m 65' top loaded, and/or base tuned, bandswitched remotely.
RX: Beverage, various verticals and MFJ-1025 Noise Canceller. Cushcraft R7.
High bands: 20m long dipole with tuned feeder (20m, 12m) made of LadderSnap open wire line.
6m: homebrew 4 element quad fed with 75 Ohm hardline.
2m and 70cm: 11 element and 15 element single yagis.

This is a new QTH for us since May 2014, antennas and station in flux.

K1DNR Mobile Setup: I am using a screwdriver type mobile antenna with a 72" (1.8m) stainless steel whip. I also have a 12' telescopic whip for stationary use. I use an FT-857D barefoot, homebrew heaset and CW paddles strapped to the ashtray. I enjoy operating mobile with my FT857D.
