| Biography Tsushima Island, IOTA AS-036, is an island of the Japanese archipelago located in the Korea Strait between Kyushu Island (the most southwesterly of Japanese four main islands) and the Korean Peninsula.
Tsushima Island is also an island to own rich nature that has ecosystem of rare continent origin in Japan.
The main island of Tsushima was once a single island but was divided into two in 1671 by the Ohfunakoshiseto canal and into three in 1900 by the Manzekiseto canal.
These canals were driven through isthmuses in the center of the island, creating North Tsushima Island and South Tsushima Island.
Tsushima also incorporates over 100 smaller islands.
The island measures about 70 km (43 mi) by 15 km (9 mi) and has a population of about 32,000 as of 2016.
The island is the largest island in Nagasaki Prefecture.
The city of Tsushima, JCC 4209, lies on the Tsushima island has six towns.
