Biography

I started dedicating myself to radio listening with a certain continuity since 1977, today my interest is mainly for Utilty in particular DSC and Navtex.
LF / MF / HF Utility DXer... NDB, Navtex and DSC using Pskov, YaND and YaDD respectively.

RWW DSC Editor (since 2022-04-06).

I'll briefly explain what RWW is https://rxx.classaxe.com/en/rww/signals.
RWW is a voluntary, cooperative, free, global effort to provide an accurate and maintained knowledge base for certain types of digital and other HF utility signals. Originally created to provide up-to-date information for aviation Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), it has been expanded over the years to include many other forms of HF utility broadcasts as well; DGPS, DSC, TIme, Navtex, Ham beacons, Marine SSB, Aviation SSB etc. Today, RWW contains information on 17,250 currently confirmed active utility signals (as well as historical information on a large number of additional inactive signals) and contains over 2 million listener logs from 1,251 locations worldwide. It is continuously updated by a global network of contributors. Originally started by Andy Robins, the first RWW registry was introduced in January 1977. The current version, seeded using Andy's original data, was designed, programmed and maintained by Martin Francis with the help of a small number of volunteers who handle signal entries, upload and reward registry etc. RWW represents 45 years of global utility signal knowledge and listening experiences. It's a pretty amazing HF radio listening asset and, indeed, a historic record.
