I was born in 1962, and in 1967 I received a pair of walkie-talkies imported from Japan as a gift, and that's where it all began. My love for radio led me to study the field, becoming a telecommunications expert in 1981 and then continuing on to study telecommunications engineering. I could have become a radio amateur with the exemption from the exams in 1981, but I wanted to take the CW exams first; military service, studies, and work took me around Italy and prevented me from doing so. In 1987, I asked to take the exams, but I couldn't master CW, so I opted for the special license. I've always been active in radio, focusing especially on the radio-PC combination, starting with Bulletin Board Systems, satellites, and pioneering digital systems and modes. Today, I watch the radio less enthusiastically, finding little scope for experimentation and the widespread lack of Ham Spirit....
My three stations are located in Catania (actually, in a hamlet called Canalicchio - Tremestieri, 5 meters from the border with the municipality of Catania) and two other stations are located north of the town of Belpasso at an altitude of 870 meters above sea level on Mount Etna.
