Biography

First callsign was IW1AM now reassigned. Main interest was in Weather Satellite Pictures and Satellite Communication and with the help of my friend Roberto I1BAB, I built my first APT station in 1978, receiving and decoding pictures from TIROS-N using wefax machine and a modified TV set.

Now I receive HRPT, APT and Meteosat second generation MSG DVB (EumetCast). Actually most of my atctivity is in Amateur Deep Space Network spacecraft detection on 8400 MHz, amateur Radio Astronomy on 1420 MHz and sometimes EME JT65 on 1296 MHz.

Next challenge is receiving Pulsar B0329+54 and along my friend Nando I1NDP, we spent some week-end together and using his big 10m dish and his software know-how, finally the B0329+54 pulsar appeared from post-processing.

VLF and ELF are another very interesting story as well as Rain Scatter in 10 GHz.

I was active on AO-40 S-band and now on QO-100 Es'hailsat-2 narrow and wide band transponder.
