Biography

IW0GYI operator Alessandro Pezzoli was passionate about radio from a young age, he began to work on 27 Mhz in 1977 at the age of 8, his first device was a PACE 123 A then others followed, at 14 he found work (without being regularized) at L'Eurasiatica in Rome, the importer of PACE RTX devices, based first in Via Spalato and then in Via Conca D'oro, was the importer for Italy of PACE devices, so he began his journey in applied electronics and telecommunications by repairing PACE transceiver devices.

In 1986, his ordeal began, with Progressive Systemic Sclerosis , which led to his first heart attack in 1999, a second heart attack a month later, from then on his ordeal began, forced to undergo intravenous drips of Ilortprost , (drip), which although not a cure, still help Alessandro to move forward, drips that last 8 hours a day and he has to do them for 5 days a month, this has been happening continuously since 1999.

Unfortunately in 2004 he also began to have lung problems which led to a 24/7 oxygenation of 2 Lt. per minute.

In 1997, he joined TRAINET SpA, a company in the SIP Group (Società per i telefoni), a company that provided online training for employees, where he was responsible for the information system and remote customer support. After two years, he joined Telecomitalia SpA as an information system, general services, and network security officer.

In 1991 he founded the CAER association but unfortunately after his removal from the association in 2009 his health conditions worsened significantly. Today he uses forced pulmonary ventilation, the use of oxygen 24 hours a day, has great difficulty swallowing, and severe liver damage due to all the medications he takes. He is undergoing intravenous drip therapy to help the liver detoxify, and has severe pain in all his joints.

Despite his physical condition, in 2009 he and his association C.A.E.R. were present in Abruzzo (L'Aquila) in the earthquake zone, managing his volunteers and preparing tent cities for the earthquake victims in the San Vittorino area (AQ) as well as making the radio room operational for communications between all the various associations and bodies present at the rescue.

In 2010, due to his rapid deterioration, he found himself, to his great regret and pain, with his disease, Progressive Systemic Sclerosis, having worsened significantly after the great disappointment of 2009, compromising his normal life. He was forced to resign from Telecomitalia SpA, unable to cope any longer. In 2012, he founded the C.N.S. non-profit

organization , Centro Nazionale Soccorso (National Rescue Center ) . He currently serves as both a founding member and President. With this new mission, supported by various leaders of the Italian Civil Protection Agency, who asked that the skills acquired to date not be squandered, and with the help of his former volunteers, he began this new journey.

Where the CNS National Rescue Center is not only an innovative way of volunteering, not just Civil Protection, Health Rescue, but real volunteering! Where it is most needed, among the elderly, marginalized children, in the hot areas of the outskirts of cities, trying to redevelop them, giving new dignity to those who live there.

Volunteering isn't about wearing a nice uniform to show off, taking selfies to post on social media, but about silent VOLUNTEERING, moving unseen, providing real help where it's needed most!

An expert in radio communications, packet radio, radio bridge programming and installations, and emergency operations room management, he conducts emergency radio communications courses. A computer expert with a degree in network security, he has received significant recognition from both Italian and foreign organizations and institutions to date.

Today it still works at the service of non-profit organizations, with the aim of spreading and expanding radio communications in all their forms and platforms.

His motto...you can be useful even without being a hero...
