mi chiamo Robertino,

originario di Ripa Teatina, un piccolo paese a 200m s.l.m. a pochi chilometri da Chieti ma risiedo da anni insieme alla mia famiglia a Trieste (Friuli Venezia Giulia).

Ripa Teatina è un piccolo paese famoso per la preparazione della Porchetta, degli arrosticini, ma soprattutto per la grande tradizione di boxe. Si tratta del paese natale di due grandi campioni di pugilato, Rocky Mattioli, campione mondiale nella categoria pesi medi-junior, e Rocky Marciano forse il piu grande boxer di tutti i tempi.

originally from Ripa Teatina, a small town at 200m s.l.m. a few kilometers from Chieti but I live for years together with my family in Trieste (Friuli Venezia Giulia).

Ripa Teatina is a small town, it is famous for the preparation of "Porchetta", of the "Arrosticini", but above all for the great tradition of boxing. This is the birthplace of two great boxing champions, Rocky Mattioli, world champion in the junior-middleweight category, and Rocky Marciano perhaps the greatest boxer of all time.
Il mio primo contatto con il mondo delle radio l’ho avuta all’età di 10 anni nel lontano 1988 a casa del mio vicino, I6UNR Rocco, che mi fece vedere per la prima volta come funzionava una ricetrasmittente e quella esperienza accese in me quella passione che ancor oggi coltivo.

My first contact with the ham radio world I had at the age of 10 years, back in 1988 at the home of my neighbor, I6UNR Rocco, who showed me for the first time how a transceiver worked and that experience turned on in me that passion that I still cultivate today.​

Gli anni passano e finalmente nel 1992, riesco a realizzare quel sogno tanto desiderato acquistando la mia prima ricetrasmittente con la quale iniziai le prime trasmissioni via etere. Successivamente stimolato da quell’ ambizione di collegare stazioni sempre più lontane decisi di migliorare la mia postazione dotandola di antenne ed apparati radio sempre più performanti che mi permisero in 4 anni di collegare oltre 150 paesi nella banda degli 11m.

The years pass and finally in 1992, I can realize that dream so desired by purchasing my first transceiver with which I started the first transmissions via ether. Subsequently stimulated by that ambition to connect increasingly distant stations, I decided to improve my workstation by equipping it with antennas and increasingly high-performance radio devices that allowed me to connect over 150 countries in the 11m band in 4 years
Dopo essermi stabilito definitivamente nella città di Trieste, incoraggiato soprattutto da un amico OM, finalmente nel 2007 scoseguisco la patente di radioamatore con nominativo “IV3VNY”, coronando in questo modo quel “sogno” cominciato da bambino.

After establishing myself definitively in the city of Trieste, encouraged above all by a friend OM, finally in 2007 I run my amateur radio license with the name "IV3VNY", crowning in this way that "dream" started as a child.

Il mio nuovo “status” riaccende in me quella passione ormai sopita in anni di QRT, dedicando tutto me stesso all’attività radioamatoriale ma soprattutto al mondo del DX, allestendo il mio “shack” al fine di collegare tutte quelle stazioni dislocate nelle parti più remote del pianeta. Con poco più di tre anni di attività radio , nell’ottobre 2011, avevo collegato 228 paesi DXCC con un QRB di oltre 19.000 km.

My new "status" rekindles in me that passion now overwhelmed in years of QRT, dedicating all my life to amateur radio but especially to the world of DX, setting up my "shack" in order to connect all those stations located in the parts more remote of the planet. With just over three years of radio activity, in October 2011, I had connected 228 DXCC countries with a QRB of over 19.000 km

Dal 25 novembre 2017, dopo oltre un lustro di qrt forzato, incuriosito anche dall’avvento del nuovo sistema digitale di comunicazione DX “FT8”, ho nuovamente allestito una piccola stazione Radioamatoriale.

From 25 November 2017, after more than five years of forced qrt, also intrigued by the advent of the new mode DX "FT8" digital communication system, I re-set up a small amateur radio station.
