Biography

Born in 1978, I started my activities in 1990, spending countless hours chatting with friends on the citizen band and making my first DX contacts. In 2000, my interest grew, leading me to obtain my first special callsign (IW3IDH), which later evolved into regular callsign (IZ3HLO) after purchasing my first radios (Kenwood TS850 and TH77). I was active for several years, but other priorities temporarily sidelined my hobby, causing me to lose my callsign.

In 2020, I reignited my passion for radio, regained my current callsign, and started with a simple fish rod antenna.... I needed RF!!
In 2022, I ventured into VHF and UHF, participating in my first contests and developing a love for competitions. Currently, I'm focused on major CW contests on HF and phone/cw contests on VHF and UHF. In the last years, I have made improvements to my antenna system, obtained new radios, and built portable antennas for field operations.
My primary mode is CW, especially from home, because my station is located in the bedroom and my partner keeps a baseball bat at the ready!

A special thanks to the friends of the ARI section of Mestre (IQ3ME) for the tireless involvement and the important technical and moral support.
