Your QSL via bureau or direct is very appreciated.
Since I was a child, during the first '90s, I was surrounded by radio-ham equipment thanks to my dad (s.k. IW3EKT). His shack was full of state of the art pc and radio communication devices, I remember the table permanently covered by QSL cards and I was particularly proud of our tower in the garden, even if I did not understand exactly his function... but c'mon, that's soooo cool!
I think I grew with the hidden dream to understand this magic, the one that brought us the latest news on the Gulf War earlier than TV did, the one that lead voices and mysterious sounds from who knows where directly at home, but I always kept this dream in a drawer. I didn't think I could pass the exams as I did not studied electronics or STEM subjects.
Later in my life, thanks to the podcast AstronautiCast, I found some special radio-ham friends that, other than making me discover the beauty of space exploration, they convinced me I could do that. Thanks to their constant and essential help, their contagious enthusiasm, incredible patience and faithful support, and obviously thanks to the great teachers of ARI Verona, now I am the proud owner of a lovely callsign!
What am I interested in? I understand that the ham world includes plenty of activities, so I'll try everything I can and I'll see what I like the most. At the moment I like doing contests and receiving SSTV images from the ISS.
In April 2020, during the lockdown, with the envaluable help of my friends I made up my home station with a Yaesu FT-991/A, an 8m fishing rod and a Diamond X-200.
Thank you for visiting my page, we'll meet in the ether!
