| Biography Already a CB operator since childhood in the 1970s, I decided at the age of 60 to become a licensed amateur radio operator.
My first QSO took place on May 27, 2023, on the 20-meter band.
I transmit from North Rome, operating with 500W using a Yaesu FT-450D + ACOM 1000 and four antennas:
Horizontal 2-element triband for 10-15-20m: PROSISTEL PST-32 (ON)
Vertical multiband HyGain DX-88 for 10-12-15-17-20-30-40-80m (ON)
Ground plane ECO with 3 radials for the 6-meter band (OFF)
Fixed rotatable dipole at 310°/130° for WARC bands 12-17-30m: PROSISTEL PST-273 (ON)
For the antenna installation on a challenging rooftop, I relied on the expertise and support of Stefano IK0VCK.
I transmit:
On all HF bands in FT8, FT4, and voice, except for 160 meters
On 6 meters, only in FT8 and FT4
⚡ Transmission Power:
FT4, FT8: 70 Watts
SSB: 70 to 500 Watts Worked DXCCs: |
