Biography
some short info about myself.
I got my licence nearly 60 years ago when I was 15. As a kid I had very little money so I could build my first station getting my actual callsign IK4JTL only at the age of 27 shortly after I get married.
from 1987 to 1989 I operated CW only with 100 Watt and a 3 elements antenna working some 150 DXCC entities. I also volunteered at the local radio club as a CW instructor helping other guys to gain their licenses. At the age of 30 when my second daughter was born my family moved to another house and a long long dark period began for me as a radio op.
Unexpectedly one year ago at the age of 62 and approaching retirement the radio bug bit me again.
This time I choose to do it the hard way: CW only, QRP self built TX, wire loop invisible antenna on my balcony.
Luckily with a short training I found myself able to copy and send CW again at a decent speed after a 35 years interval.
In one year my log has been filled with 600 QSO and 65 DXCC entities
This is my Ham story in a few words.
BTW I am a retired nurse but I like to call myself a maker because I enjoy building special things. I like astronomy, r/C models both planes and boats, playing piano and guitar, building electronic circuits and hunting dx of course.
In these last few years I've built a Dobson telescope, a modular synthesizer, a pair of special Hi-fi loudspeakers, a r/c tugboat and a r/c sailboat too
I hope to meet you soon on the air
