Biography

Hi Guys:

This is my current DX station: Radios ICOM IC-751A and ICOM IC-7000. Antennas are a HEX-BEAM for 20-6 meters, an older Cushcraft ATB-34 for 10, 15 and 20 meters modified with an extra driven element for 17 and 40 meters bands (rotatable dipole), and a home made 6 meters five elements antenna. All on a 60 feet home made tower also. Rotor is the Italian Pro.Sis.Tel, model PST61D (very happy with it)

I work SSB and a little of CW where I give my nickname as "Rada" for easier copy.
I´m a logging program fan and I have been testing most of them. I´m presently using Logger32, combined with Ham Radio Deluxe and Swisslog. The computer here is an Apple iMac Dual Core, 24" screen with parallel PC emulator software.

I' m planning to comeback to RTTY and others digital modes. My preferred frequency is 14.246 MHz.
Why? Because it is my full birthday date.
I also operate on 14.214 and 14.014, since the number 14 follows me and my family: My first two children were born in March 14 at same time, but in different years. Perfect shot! - qsl? (hi hi).

N O T I C E

STARTING JANUARY 26, 2013 - EB7DX (David) IS NO LONGER THE QSL MANAGER. NOW I WILL RESPOND ALL QSL's DIRECTLY. ANY HAM THAT HAD A CONTACT WITH HI3B FROM MARCH 1st, 2011 TO JANUARY 25, 2013 CAN GET OUR CARD DIRECTLY.
WE LACK THE SERVICE TO RESPOND QSL's RECEIVED VIA BUREAU - WE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY TO ANSWER ALL QSL's.

FOR FAST AND SURE QSL PLEASE ADD IRC's OR "GREEN STAMP" AND SASE.

I got my first license in 1977, HI3NRZ, and previous calls have been HI3ADI ("3 Attorneys Defending Innocents" ), HI3AB ("3 Attorneys brawling" or "3 Abogados Borrachos") and now HI3B, ("3 Bohemians" or "3 Borrachos"), from March 2009.
I'm the founder member of the Hotel India DX Club, Inc. (26-01-92) and our DX Club has the following calls: HI1DX, HI2DX, HI3DX, HI4DX, HI5DX, HI6DX, HI7DX, HI8DX, HI9DX and HI0DX .
I´m the main operator of HI3DX, and ocasionally for the rest of the calls of our DX club.
I reside in Santiago de los Caballeros, the second important city of the Dominican Republic. Grid Locator is FK49PL
My profession is a lawyer, and started my practice in 1973.
In my free time I practice sport journalism, (baseball) and I love amateur radio, specially DX.

Thank you for visiting,

73, Radhames HI3B
