Biography

Hi Guys,

Began amateur radio about 1966 with a home made 2 metre crystal-set for two metres!(Had some 2 metre amateurs living nearby!)

About 1977 attended evening classes at Leith nautical college in Edinburgh (Scotland)and learned CW and some theory.

About 1980 attended Nautical college in Glasgow to learn a bit more! Took my 'Ticket' then and passed but was too much of a 'rookie' to have courage to get on the air until about 1992 (VHF) (GM7OVZ)... Passed morse 12w.p.m in 1994 and have been licenced as GM0UKZ since then.

Since then have have made a lot of great friends and enjoy rag-chewing/ DX-ING and contesting...
