Biography

My handle is Ian

I was first registered 17th February 1977 with a class B licence, but I became dormant due to work and family commitments before re-registered on 10th April 2018 with a Class 1 licence, I have been active since then trying to master FT4 & FT8 digital modes, occasionally when time allows, I can be found using SSB on the HF bands.

My QTH Location is 5 Miles / 8km North East of the city of Nottingham in the centre of the UK Grid Square IO92lx

My station consists of the following:-

Main rig is a Yaesu FT 991 or Yaesu FT 857 but I also have a Kenwood FM Dual Bander TH-F7 for portable use.

Antenna is a Sigma Eurocom SE HF 360 Fibre Glass Vertical HF Aerial into either an ATU-100 or MFJ Travel Tuner model MFJ-902H

My second HF antenna is a 20m long end fed long wire into one of my ATU’s
