Biography

Thank you for visiting my page!

My name is Thambiah, and I am based in Walthamstow, London. I have held a full driving licence since 1995. Driven by a strong interest in electronics, I pursued higher education and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering in London.

In my professional career, I have worked as an engineer and later as an allocation adviser with British Telecom Openreach, where I was employed until November 2023.

At present, I face some challenges with QSOs involving UK operators, mainly due to the positioning of my antenna and a large building obstructing signals to the north. However, communication is much more effective towards the south and across Europe. My preferred first-hop distance often brings strong and enjoyable QSOs, particularly with stations in Italy. I have also successfully made contacts as far as Somalia and Kuwait, in addition to various locations across Europe.
