Biography
Hi
Thanks for taking the trouble to look me up.
Licensed originally in early 1984, but when the children came along, and my 2 metre 6 element quad with rotator brought the chimney down and crashed onto the entrance step of our 1 week old extention to the house, i operated more mobile on 2m after that.
I saw the ad for the Baofeng UV-5R and bought one in August 2018, finding my local repeater (GB3WR) fully quietening, i was hooked again and back on 2 meters. However due to this previous disaster i have been banished to the top of the garden !!!
Ventured onto HF in early April 2019 and I am enjoying operating on 80m - 70cm. Currently I have a white stick for 2m & 70cm, and a 10 element horozontal yagi for 2 metres SSB, 6m dipole, and for HF an 80m doublet, and a 17metre Double Bazooka at 10metres high.
HF Icom 7300, + Acom 1010 Linear aplifier 700 watts, Desk microphone Icom SM30.
6m Icom 7300 100watts, 6m Di-pole horizontal.
2m Kenwood TR751E, + 100watt MML 144/100P linear, 10 element Yagi for 2m SSB and Co Linear for FM.
70cm Baofeng UV-5R, and UV-9R.
I am also operating remote Portable & Mobile with my iphone and lap top, using 'RemoteTx'.
